FLOCK TO THE FESTIVAL

Supported by the Shire of Dandaragan

Got an eye for art, a stash of recycled treasure, or just want a fun project with the kids? Flock to the Festival is calling on local residents, families, artists, visitors, businesses, and community groups to build a bird sculpture for the 2026 Turquoise Coast Festival!

Ruffle a few feathers in the best way possible. Create a bird sculpture, join the outdoor exhibition, and vote for the People's Choice Award! Your winged creation will be displayed in an outdoor exhibition at the 2026 Turquoise Coast Festival.

how to get involved

  • Enter the Exhibition: Submit your entry form by Friday, 23 October. Entry is $10 for Sandy Feet Arts members, or $25 for non-members (which includes a full 1-year membership!).

  • Join a Free Wire Bird Workshop: Need a head start or some materials? Grab a spot at one of our hands-on workshops in Jurien Bay on Saturday, 19 September or Saturday, 3 October (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM). We’ll supply the wire, guidance, and morning tea!

workshops

We’re winging it (with wire, that is)!

Unleash your inner creator at our free Wire Bird Workshops, where you can get inspired, bend some wire, and build the foundation for your festival sculpture! We’ll supply the morning tea and help you build the wire framing, so all you need to bring are your gardening gloves, a pair of pliers (if you have them), and a bit of enthusiasm! You’ll walk away with the completed outline of your bird, ready to take home, decorate, and turn into your own masterpiece.

Registration is essential as there are strictly limited places!
